A 200 level computer science student, Chinonso Ibekwe, is currently behind bars in Abia state for allegedly strangling one Mr Peter Eseonu, a tricycle operator locally known as keke to death in Umuahia.
According to reports coming from the Nigerian Police Abia State Command, Chinonso boarded Eseonu's tricycle which he told him that he was going to pick up some farm produce from his mother's farm at Amzukwu community area of the state. On getting to the farm, Chinonso allegedly attacked and killed Eseonu with a rope, dumped his body in a nearby ditch and scamped away with his tricycle (keke).
The murderer arrest was led by a man who was defecating in the farm land where Mr Eseonu was killed, the stranger who witness whole crime and later raised alarm in the nearby community.
Confirming the incident, the Abia state commissioner of Police, (CP) Leye Oyebade Adeleye stated that the suspected was already in custody earlier for a formal report that was filed on the missing 67-year-old Eseonu.
He revealed that suspect took detectives to the scene of the crime where the decomposed body of the deceased was found. CP Leye Oyebade finalized by stating that the 25-year-old Murderer Chinonso has been charged to court and he's currently behind bars.
